Bubble Travel, sometimes called Bubble Power, is the chief method of transportation used by Harley P. Mathewson. It involves enveloping oneself in a giant magical bubble, and then floating away.

Though the logistics behind Bubble Travel are sound, in practice it is an extremely slow and inefficient method of travel, and modern attempts at improving it have been fruitless. In addition, the equipment and materials necessary to generate bubbles is far too cumbersome be carried along in the field, making it very impractical for general purpose transportation. Even the most recent bubble device developed by Toshiba (the current leader in bubble research) is approximately the size of a car engine, and requires about 3 pints of orphan blood to create one bubble. Toshiba is currently under fire from the Japanese media for its shady activities related to human trafficking.

Use by Mathewson

Since Mathewson is inexplicably able to create bubbles of any size, at will, without the assistance of any equipment, his methods are a subject of much mystery. Most Bubbologists agree that Mathewson probably stole his power from Glinda the Good Witch, a character in the famous book and film The Wizard of Oz. According to the events of the Great Lollipop Massacre, Mathewson did in fact murder Glinda. Some speculate that Mathewson must have used his vampiric bite to absorb Glinda's soul, and with it her inherent Bubble Power. However, this contradicts with survivors' reports that Mathewson killed Glinda by (literally) dropping a house on her. Others have supposed that Mathewson had to wear her pink clothes for two weeks and recite "There's no place like home," over and over in order to master the skill. Scholars still debate this.
