Century Club

The Century Club is a drinking game invented by and often played by Harley P. Mathewson. Its rules are similar to that of the modern "Century Club" (which is loosely based on Mathewson's game), in which each participant drinks one shot of beer every minute for 100 minutes. It differs in that the shots are of Everclear rather than beer, and that the contest literally lasts for one hundred years.

Mathewson is the only known individual to successfully accomplish his Century Club. Because of its difficulty it is considered to be a Tremendous Feat of Joining.

Notable Deaths from Century Club

  • Some have recently argued that notable proto-joiner William Shakespeare, who died after a bout of drinking with Ben Jonson, may have actually been participating in the Century Club. Mathewson was known, at least according to Time Travel Theory, to have traveled to Shakespeare's day.
