Joino-Mathewsonism is a Mathewsonism sect, a way of life, a practical philosophy, and arguably a discipline of psychology. The movement was founded by Franklin Hergort.

Theology

In this movement Mathewson is a Christ-like figure, with the "Supreme Joiner" as the ultimate force of joining in the universe. Contrarily, there are those aligned with Jim Henson and the forces of dying, the "evil individuality" in the world, who attempt to bring "isolation and thus death" among mankind. Mathewson, then, by joining, as well as not joining and not dying, has brought a sort of balance to those two opposed forces. Thus only through Mathewson, Hergort says, can "true joining" occur, and thus can individuals "be joined with the ultimate, the Supreme Joiner, who is purely not of death."

The Supreme Joiner

The Supreme Joiner (TSJ), Hergort has explained, is "sort of like The Force, but it cannot be easily explained by a bunch of stupid little organisms in your bloodstream." TSJ is an immanent being in the world, who manifests wherever joining occurs. Otherwise, Hergort says, he can only be described negatively: he is not of death, or anything related to death; he cannot be described; and he ensures in his mysterious way that ultimately joining wins over death.

Destruction of the Movement

The Joino-Mathewsonism movement was wiped from existence on its one hundredth year. On that night, Joino-Mathewsonist all across the world participated in Harley P. Mathewson's Century Club as required in their translation of The Verities of Joining. Those in the movement who did not die from alcohol poisoning were met with a swift death for not fulfilling the ceremony (and thus not joining).
